….. And those cats….. Yep, they’re all grown up now. Much easier and not so skittish! Yoyo, is more laid back…nothing fazes her. Tonto, on the other hand is a complete wuss of a puss, and scared of his own shadow! But I’m making him deal with stuff. It wasn’t working being too genteel with him, so I’m hauling him around a bit and it seems to be working!

An Eye For An Eye

imageslightly different again… A quick sketch of an eye, little bit of Sharpie pen colour and a finger smudge of water…. More luck than judgement with this one!

Back to the drawing board now the builders have moved out!

So, the builders moved out in the middle of June…hooray! Lovely as they all were, its nice to have our house back, and not have to make umpteen teas / coffees! … And….I’m painting again! I’m in the middle of a large collage for the lounge which I’m not too happy with, so I’ll be coming back to that at a later date, but while the builders were here, I found myself doodling and then creating with various felt tips / paint pens / Sharpies and the like. Great fun, and  I’ve moved onto some more sophisticated pens too, though I do love me Sharpies; as their name suggests, they do give a very sharp edge and colour. so, watch this space….I shall be adding work as I go, and here’s a few for starters! Not sure how this new work would be categorised! Not really ‘Pop Art’, probably more ‘Urban Art’ or Psychedelic….! ….And you may well ask what goes on in my brain!!

Oh yes….just for the record…the house I put on here we were in the midst of buying is not the one we ended up buying! Long old story…too long for here, but suffice it to say we went all round the houses to get here!!

Where has the time gone?!

Take 2 on this first post! Somehow this and the second post never got published, but the third post did! So…here now is the first and second posts, hopefully in the right order!

I decided I need to get going again on my painting. We are both retired now, but seem to have less time than ever! But we have a few weeks coming up where we are going to be at home for a bit, so I figured this might be a good time to get going! But…..my other passion is our garden (which was a complete blank canvas, and we are slowly transforming), and I never know which one I should be putting my efforts into! I clearly need better organisational skills, as I end up (like today) doing nothing!
But, I have made a start on a painting – it’s called OZ, as it relates to Australia, and is to be on the same lines as my ‘Guilded Isles’.
My vision for this painting centres round the colour red / orange (Ayers Rock), but my first attempt with these colours just didn’t work – for me anyway. So I gesso’d completely over the top, whereby it looked more like Iceland than Australia, and have now started again, with more subtle colours. See the next few photos and see what you think!
